Senior Choir

"Lift every voice and sing..."

The Senior Choir welcomes singers. Our primary function is to provide leadership in singing the 10:30 Sunday service from the first Sunday after Labor Day through Pentecost/the end of May, and for major feast days. Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 7:15-9:00 p.m. and before services, 9:30-10:15.

Our anthem repertoire is drawn primarily from Anglican, continental European, and American church music because of their rich traditions and correlation with the three-year lectionary. These anthems span centuries, from the medieval period to the present. We also have three composers in the choir who have pieces we sing, some of which were written especially for our choir. We most often sing in English, but sometimes we sing in Latin, and occasionally in French or German.

Because of the volume of music that we sing and the nature of the continuing repertoire, it is necessary that singers be able to read at least a little music. If you would like to share your talent in worship with us, please contact Mary Anne Bruner for an audition.
